Yes, The new rave in Chanthaburi is Stone Carvings. They start any where from 200 baht up to thousands of baht. Some people try to sell them by ct weight which depends on the style style and quantity involved. A typical nicely carved stone buddha figurine sells from about 1000 baht for a small size up to many thousands.
The asking price for a large buddha carving of emerald was approximately $5,000 USD. The owner would have taken about 2,000. Only Probelm is Thai bans the export of buddha images. Which they tend to inforce on large objects.
I have been buying a few small lots of 6-10 carvings for about $8 per item. Polished but sometimes they have major inclusions in the stone affecting one or two of the items in the lots. Its Loss leader.
I let some go at 0.99 cents and see what they all fetch. Most i try to set as low as possible to elicit bidding competition.
